Duke Snider Autographed Jersey…..

This was one of the best buys of my life to tell you i bought this jersey for what the cost of a high end box would cost would be a lie! I saw the jersey hanging at the shop that i go to and had to buy it right way. Blew all th card money i had that day but man was it worth it. After i bought the jersey a few weeks later Mr.Snider passed. The Duke of Flatbush will aways be a true hero to me because of what he did on the field and off of it too! Hope he’s living it up in the that baseball field in the sky!! R.I.P. Duke!

It’s all about the U!!

Vinny Testaverde accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Miami, where he played for the Miami Hurricanes football team from 1983 to 1986. As a senior in 1986, he was a consensus first-team All-American and won the Heisman Trophy, on his way to becoming the Hurricanes’ all-time leader in career touchdown passes with 48. He played in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl against Penn State for the 1986 national championship, a game in which the Miami Hurricanes were heavily favored, but went on to lose 14–10 after Testaverde threw five interceptions. Testaverde played an important part in the University of Miami’s history as one of the top collegiate football programs of the 1980s and 1990s. Along with Jim Kelly and Bernie Kosar, Testaverde is considered part of the University of Miami’s quarterback dynasty. He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.

It was at the last game played at the Orange Bowl that i was able to meet and get autographed this great SI i had bought on Ebay a while back. Vinny was really cool and even took the time to talk to the fans. It sucked that they didn’t allow pictures with the players there but hey at i got an autograph of a Canes Icon. Thanks the Vinny for the great auto and time!!!

WE miss you OB!!

Gayload Perry autographed baseball

Gaylord Jackson Perry is a former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher. He pitched from 1962-1983 for eight different teams in his career. During a 22-year baseball career, Perry compiled 314 wins, 3,534 strikeouts, and a 3.11 earned run averave. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

Like most pitchers, Perry was not renowned for his hitting ability, and in his sophomore season of 1963, his manager Alvin Dark is said to have joked, “They’ll put a man on the moon before he hits a home run.” There are other variants on the story, but either way, on July 20, 1969, just an hour after the Apollo 11 spacecraft carrying Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon, Perry hit the first home run of his career….

I picked this ball up at a card show for 15 bucks, i just couldn’t pass it up. It makes a great ball to add to my collection.

Jim Palmer HOF Pin

Hey everybody, it’s Ryan from Ryan’s Memorabilia Blog. A while back my friend Wicked posted asking if anyone was interested in showing off some of their memorabilia. I jumped at the chance to show some of my stuff. Just a fair warning, almost everything I have is Baltimore related.

The first thing I have to show off is a Jim Palmer HOF Pin.

I have never seen anything like it, it is one of my favorite pins. I believe I picked this up on eBay, but not sure.

The front of the pin shows an image of Jim Palmer and the right panel states National Baseball Hall of Fame 1990.

The inside states “1st day in the majors April 17th 1965″ and “Last day in majors May 12th 1984″ on either door.

With the following stats listed:

2.86 Career ERA, 268 Career Wins, 2212 Career Strikeouts, 211 Complete Games, 53 Career Shutouts “Diamond Jim”
